I did my federal taxes this weekend. Oh what a difference having a mortgage for a full year can make. My refund is almost double what it was last year. I'll be able to pay for exciting things like:

-my car insurance in April
-my car tax in May
-getting my dog's teeth cleaned

*sigh* This is what it means to be an adult. You get a chunk of money and you spend it on things like that. Maybe I'll reserve a semi-fun thing for the rest of the money and have my hair person do lowlights on my hair again. I haven't done that in a long time, what with my extreme lack of disposable income.

I shake my fist in triumph at the IRS for the first time in years. A kiddo AND a mortgage! Mwahahahahahahaaaaa!

Of course whatever we get back just goes to pay off the bills for upcoming kiddo #2, AKA Kermit. So... not very exciting on this front either. Blar.

Being responsible is much less fun than going out and making impulse purchases. But it will be nice to have that money in my savings account for a little while. Before it all goes toward the boring stuff....
