(no subject)

I just got an email that my 20th high school reunion is this year.

How did this happen? How have 20 years passed since I graduated from high school?

Much to my surprise, I'm thinking I might actually go. Unlike many people I know, high school wasn't a miserable experience for me. I wouldn't want to do it again, but I've never regarded it as the best time of my life either. I've never felt an overwhelming desire to reconnect with everyone I went to high school with. But I guess 20 years is enough time passed to be curious what others in my class are like now.

I don't know. By September I may decide that attendance is not a particularly appealing idea.

Are you older than me? Cause mine's next year.

Or are you a supergenius and graduated early?

I like to think that I'm a supergenius, but I'm probably just older. I'm 38. Are you 38?

Well, let's just call you a supergenius. Though, you are a year older than me. I never would have guessed!

Did you go to your 10 year? I really wanted to. I, also, didn't have a horrible time in high school. I was really bored and ready to move on. I didn't get to go to my 10 year because we had just moved to San Jose and I couldn't afford to go! *pout* I should be able next year, though! ;o]

I didn't. At the time, I was operating under a philosophy that I would never attend a reunion. I'm not firm on that philosophy anymore. I'm also a little less of social wuss than I used to be.

I went to my fifth. It was too early. I didn't have a bad time in high school, either. It was just too early. I missed my tenth, because I was seven months pregnant and we were in the middle of moving. I went to my 15th, and was so very glad I did. My 20th is coming up, too. I intend to go.

Yeah, my main thought about the 5 year reunion was "I don't really care about seeing these people again."

This last Sunday a friend mentioned that she was on the reunion committee. My first thought was a sort of "blech". But then when I was copied on an email, I saw these names of people. Names of people that I had a basically neutral relationship with, but made me a soften a bit and wonder what people are like now, what are they up to?
