BOSTON - Sen. John Kerry’s public profile and prosecutorial past didn’t spare him from performing that most mundane of civic responsibilities — jury duty.

I'm really, really surprised that neither side dismissed him from service.

I'm surprised too. I think any lawyer or politician would be dismissed from jury duty here without question.

i'm bothered by the word "mundane". tell an iraqi jury duty is mundane. isn't that why those kids are over there? for democracy and freedom?
