Years ago they had a storyline where Erica stole Maria's baby and pretended that she had adopted her from overseas. It wasn't my favorite story, but it was pretty well done and had (as I remember it) a good payoff. I really, really don't have any interest in seeing essentially that same story redone with Bianca and her baby. All signs seem to indicate that that's the direction they're going. Blech!

Add to that the way Days of Our Lives just finds new ways to plumb the depths of the Abbys of the Craptacular, and my lunch time television viewing is becoming less and less fun.

I remember the days when I enjoyed soap operas. Sure, there's always a storyline or two that doesn't click. And many stories really didn't make much sense. But watching was a pleasant experience. I miss those days.

Seriously?

Cuz I was surfing SoapNet this weekend and stopped on an episode of All My Children for a brief time -- not being a regular watcher at all. I saw Bianca and some other girl stuck somewhere and Bianca in labor. Then I read something in the little ep descriptions that pop up on my cable/TiVo screen about the other girl collapsing or something and (not even knowing for sure that she was pregnant) said to myself "Self, that other gal must be pregnang and she is gonna lose her baby and then they'll tell everyone that Bianca lost hers."

Sometimes, soaps are stupid.

I started watching As the World Turns when Bailey Chase got a part on it and all in all I enjoy it. I am a long time Days watcher but I just cannot watch it anymore. I *hate* with a fiery passion what James E. Reilly is doing to the show now.
