.... that you (well I, at least) just want to continue to stay out of the office. I don't like this whole working for a living gig. On the other hand, given my work habits of late, sometimes I remind myself that I'm lucky to be getting a paycheck. Must work on motivation. Or possibly figuring out a career path that I'm excited about. Which sounds suspiciously like hard work.

On the upside, I have the poochie with me at the office this afternoon. Of course she's with me because I'm taking her to the vet for her annual heartworm test this afternoon and I think she's a little suspicious that something's up. But, fluffy dog to pet. While I'm at work. *cough* making an entry on lj *cough*

The thing about being out of the office for a few days is....
.... that you (well I, at least) just want to continue to stay out of the office.

Amen, sister.

Once I'm past my "probation" period (whenever that is...) I'm going to pitch to the HR lady my dream of working, what was called at my last job, a 9/80 - which means that I'd work 9 hours every day then get every other friday off. That would make me happy, I think.

That's what I love about academia. I can successfully arrange a pretty flexible work schedule. Of course, the 14 hour days are evil, but then I never feel guilty taking four days off in a row.

That's a lie. I do feel guilty. But I still take the days off, even if I do keep a notebook with me at all times, to jot down work-related things.

Bah. Sometimes, it's more like I never leave work. It follows me everywhere! It's like a stalking vulture. Or something...

Does this mean you've decided against the possible temp position? (You've probably said somewhere else and I missed it.)

Well, they never called me back. So, I think they decided against me. Actually, after having talked to a temp that Alex works with (this is the same place I'm applying to as a temp), it seems that for every open temp position 6 agencies are allowed to submit up to 2 resumes. So, I was up against 11 other people for the position. They probably took someone who lives closer, because there really aren't many people who have more temp experience than me at this company....
