In my family we crochet, too! Earlier in the year someone gave my mom some knitting needles and she gave them to me. They sat in my garage until I was going to be seeing gttygrl and I could give them to her!
Oh, and you need to learn to crochet hats. They go by pretty quickly and make nice gifts. And they're easier to keep from getting lopsided! If we're ever at a gathering at the same time again, I'll be more than happy to teach you to crochet hats.
