Oh Harry Potter fandom, don't ever change. Somebody has to make the other fandoms feel better about their own craziness. It might as well be you.

What gets me about all of this--at least from what I've been able to gleen--this guy asked JKR if he could publish this project (for profit). She told him no. He and his publisher proceed. How stupid can you be? And I really have to question the competence of the publisher. If he hadn't broached the idea of permission from the start he could at least claim ignorance or general lack of understanding. The fact that he asked permission to begin with is the first clue that he knew that there at least might be an issue there. I don't see how either he (or the publisher) has a leg to stand on here.

*dies laughing* I heart HP fandom in all its batshit insanity. I have one or two Serious Thoughts (or at least Thoughts that are Semi-Serious In Nature) but mostly I'm just enjoying the way the poster on F-W is wording everything. "The children, why don't you think of them??" *sporfles*

There's just so much to love. I think my current favorite aspect is how the sue-ee doesn't want anyone to copy his work but sees nothing wrong with him recreating JKR's. For profit.

Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.
