So lately I've been casting my eye in the direction of Ipods. I've actually spent a little time looking longingly at the Ipod Classics. However, that's more than can justify spending a toy at this point in time. So instead I've been looking at the more realistically (for me) priced shuffles.

As usual when I have questions, I fling them out to the world wide web for comment and guidance. Anyone want to share their Shuffle thoughts--good, bad, or indifferent?

[Poll #1084670]

Good grief, it's always something with my poll creation! Now that I've posted this, I see that option number four in question two goes better with question one. Or perhaps was better left out altogether. Oh well...

I have a regular iPod and I quite liked it when it worked, but it died after a year and a half. Most of the people I know talk about their iPods dying within a year after getting them. Seems a lot of money for a product that doesn't last quite so well.

I have a Rio that I got for Christmas 3 years ago, and it works wonders to this day. it's only that I have to update it, as it doesn't hold as much music as any of my iPod type thingies.

So that's my $0.02

I bought one when they first came out and I LOVE it. It's so perfect sizewise and doesn't have jostling issue of regular ipods.

I have an old iPod that I bought off eBay a year and a half ago. It works great for me. I bought Alex practically the same iPod earlier this year and his already died. He got a Sansa and loooooves it.

If a Shuffle works for you, then go with it. If you want to be able to choose a song, then consider buying used on eBay. Make sure there's some sort of warranty, though.

This is why I love life on the internet. There's almost always ready-made a research group out there to provide information. :)

I don't have a Shuffle, but I have a 5G 80GB iPod, and I love it. The best part for me is having it set up so that I can just plug it into my car and it plays through the car stereo. I mostly only use it in the car, and that means I don't have to carry CDs around with me any more, and I have all my music with me all the time.
