For the last several years apartment complexes have been springing up around my town like weeds. The inevitable has finally happened. There are more apartments than renters to fill them, so owners are now looking for tactics to hold on to tenants. In my case, it means that my rent didn't go up when I renewed my lease. Yay! And also they offered people coming back a complimentary carpet shampoo or a bedroom ceiling fan. I opted for the bedroom celing fan and today they installed it. Yippee! I think that should make nightime a lot more pleasant in the summer. :)

yay for booming real estate market! last year my rent actually went down. this year it stayed the same, but they offered me incentives too!

I wish that would happen here! It did 10 years ago, but the last couple of years rents have gone skyhigh. It's about time for that bubble to burst, I tell you.
