scrabulous update
Feb. 8th, 2008 09:08 pmWhen I was in high school, on a fairly frequent basis my friends and I would go out for lunch. This generally involved going through the drive thru (usually McDonalds) and then eating in the car back at the parking lot at school. There would be four or five us. Hence a bag 'o food for each of us. Almost always, only one bag would have napkins because whoever was working the window would just put a handful in one of the bags. Every time, the bag with 20 napkins in it would be mine. It became a running joke before people started opening their bags to ask me for napkins. I'm not even exaggerating. Every single time the napkins would be in my bag.
I've been thinking about that a lot lately as I've been playing scrabulous. Because almost every time I play against a certain Polgara-shaped person, I wind up with racks consisting of 4 rs and 3 us. Or all vowels. Or other astoundingly useless combinations of letters. (I'll admit that sometimes I'm just not patient enough with my board play. But seriously, I'm on a streak of some really, really bad draws.)
I can only shake my head.
