...Well, I probably wouldn't jump off a cliff, what with my fear of heights and all. But I will do the writing meme that's going around. Why not?
Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most.
1. Birthday. My first ever fic. It's far from flawless and if I were writing it today, I think I could write it better. But I'm fond of the concept and the basic story, and for a first attempt, I don't think it's half bad. Fanfic was one of those things that I thought I would never do, but Birthday was the start of a new hobby.
2. Team's Night Out. This was my first attempt at a humorous fic. I was really, really nervous to post it. I got some really nice reaction to this story, which was a nice little ego boost. Writing it made me laugh. Which also made me nervous because "OMG, what if no one else is amused?"
3. Coming Home. This is the longest story I've ever written and my attempt at a sprawling multi-episode time frame which follows tue newly de-goa'ulded Sarah Gardner. This is another one that there are things that I could probably write better now than a year ago when I wrote it. And I'm not sure that the final product lived up to the ambition. Still, I'm very proud of the idea and the of much of the execution on this one.
4. Z is for Zat'(some'thing). Another of my forays into humor. Plus a little fun with a bit of abandonded canon within the series. Another one that was a lot of fun to write.
5. Choices. My brand new fic. Another one that I'm not sure whether the execution fully lived up to the vision that I had, but I love the story idea. And I loved playing with the idea my hero (Jack) being both emotionally walloped and pretty much in the wrong in the course of action he wants taken.
