A question for--
Feb. 3rd, 2009 01:49 pm--SG-1 folks with either better memories or better attention to detail than I have:
We know Sam got her promotion to full colonel before deploying to Atlantis. The promotion came after Ark of Truthiness yes? Does it go against cannon to have her receiving it just prior to leaving for Atlantis?
*Valiantly working to pound the square peg of my
jacksamfriends prompt into the round hole of my story idea.*
ETA: Thanks for the feedback.
Drat. I really liked the ending that I had in mind. 'Tis okay though. The general idea will still work.

Date: 2009-02-03 08:35 pm (UTC)As someone else pointed out, she had the promotion when she was on the Midway station with Dr. Lee in SGA's season four premiere.
A few producer comments have said both Sam and Cam were promoted to full colonels. Continuum canon is a bit iffy. Landry mentioned no record of a "colonel mitchell" in the USAF in the alt. timeline (and it seems in those circumstances he'd have used "lieutenant colonel" rather than just doing the normal abbreviation). The ending credits list them both as lt. cols (so someone didn't get the memo at bridge, heh).

Date: 2009-02-03 09:10 pm (UTC)I think the logical conclusion here is that anything "intended" that I also agree with is canon. Anything that I don't agree with is wishful thinking from writers and/or producers. ;)

Sorry, thinking of some of the stuff Mallozzi has spewed into cyberspace and having to take it as canon makes my blood boil.
OK mentioning the guy's name at this point makes my blood boil, but still.
