You know what's more nerve-wracking than watching a your team in a tense elimination game where you know that everyone who isn't a fan of your team is rooting for the other team?*
Watching the tense back-and-forth game while spending the entire second half trying to keep a very restless puppy corralled. I had a strategy. We took our regular long walk in the morning. Then at noon, instead of our regular mid-range walk, we took the long route again. It almost worked. He slept until the first half was winding down. I took him on a jaunt around the complex at half time hoping he would resettle when we got back. Instead, I spent the second half chasing Tom away from trash cans, away from tables, off furniture, etc. Actually, that wasn't entirely bad. It allowed me to burn off nervous energy by moving around.
I'm not really looking forward to the hype and over-hype about the Kansas/UNC matchup, but for now I'm happy that we'll be there to play the game.
*Heck, I was almost rooting for Davidson. I think they're a good team, a great story, and Stephen Curry is just a fabulous player. But I spent the whole weekend living in fear that my team would be the only #1 seed not to advance to the Final Four. *whew*
