May. 24th, 2009 11:05 am*My yearly goal is to make it to Memorial Day before turning on the air conditioning. Yesterday I broke down and turned it on. So close!
*Note to self: dogs may not interpret "c'mere" as meaning the same thing as "come!" Tom was barking a little bit at some noise outside and was trying to distract him and get him to come to me by saying c'mere and patting the floor beside me invitingly. He gave me a semi-interested look and stayed where he was. When I shifted tactics and said "come," he walked right over. *facepalm* This is why a career in dog training would not be in my future. (But I was pleased that he walked right to me when I said the right word. Even without a treat in my hand.)
*I heartily approve of three day weekends. I think we should have more of them.
