interesting color descriptions

smg01So I'm listening to the radio broadcast of the local major league team. Somehow the announcers get into a discussion of ascribing colors to various players [something or other]. (I missed the beginning of the discussion, I didn't get the context.)
At any rate, at one point a suggestion of fuchsia came up, leading to this exchange.
"What's fuchsia?"
"I don't know. Sort of purply green, I think."
"Purply green? That's hard to picture."
I wonder if they, like many men that I know, have difficulty with the difference between pink and peach.
