today's ramble

So I had to take Sheba in to the vet this morning for her dental appointment. Of course she can't have any food prior because they have to put her under to clean the teeth and etc. You know, dogs just don't accept explanations that they won't be fed and that it's for their own good. She spent several minutes barking and running excitedly toward her food dish as if to say "we're getting to the eating now, right?" I think she was little disappointed in me that not only did she not get any food, but I also dropped her off at the vet's office. I explained to her that she was going to take a long nap and then I'd pick her up late in the afternoon. I'm not sure if she understood.
Yes, I do explain things to my dog. When I'm going out of town I tell her exactly when I'm leaving and when I'll be back to pick her up from the kennel. That's sort of one of those sad petowner things, isn't it?
And on the weather front (because I'm sure everyone is anxious to know) they're predicting a possibility for a big snowstorm this weekend. I'll believe that when I see it. Lately in my area, we don't get much snow anymore. Mostly, it seems like we just get a lot of freezing rain and ice. Yuck! I would much, much prefer getting snow.

*vibes* for Sheba. hope she came through okay. And don't send that weather this way, okay?
