One of my uncles died over the weekend. He'd been in poor health for some time so it's not a great surprise. But there is an unfortunate situation in that my aunt suffers from dementia and he was the primary caretaker for her in their home. With him gone, their children have some tough and quick decisions to make. I don't envy them that. It's not going to be easy at all.

But to make it all about me--since everything should be about me--this is the second person in that generation to die within the past few months. I've reached the stage in life when people in my parents' generation are starting to go. This is serving to remind me that my parents are not going to be around forever either. I must say, I really don't like that idea at all.

*hugs* That happened with my Grampa and Gramma. My uncle Wayne was expecting to just visit for a week to see how they were doing, and suddenly Grampa was dying in the hospital and we found out just how bad off Gramma was with her Alzheimers.

I remember the time I had that realization on my own parents and how it caused me to be depressed amd teary for a few days. Still, the realization that followed was that everyone's time is limited on this Earth and we can but enjoy the company of those around us while we have it.

*hugs*
