Groundhog Day

smg01We were supposed to get this huge storm over the weekend. Lots of snowfall forcast and winter storm warnings abounded. As usual, my town was right on the dividing line and all we got was a lot of sleet and maybe an inch of snow. (Other parts of the state did get quite a lot of snow.) One of my coworkers came into my office this morning with the following theory: "the weather forcasters must get kickbacks from the grocery stores." She was talking about going into a grocery store on Saturday and every single grocery cart was taken. A lot of people were probably also shopping for Super Bowl parties, but that doesn't entirely dismiss her theory. Still, if we're going to get a storm, I prefer to get a storm not some wimpy remnants of storm-like behavior.
And here's my obligatory Sheba update. I brought her home from her dental appointment Friday night all cute and groggy and sleepy. Her eye still looks puffy like she's been in a prize fight, but the vet thinks that should go down on it's own now that the tooth has been removed. (Apparently the roots of that particular tooth bump up against the sinuses and the infection and swelling probably irritated that as well.
