I voted for "I watch each episode in order, even the ones I don't really like. Then the commentaries. Then the extras."

I always do this EXCEPT when I got Buffy Season 2. Then I went straight for Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.

I voted number one, except extras come after eps but before commentaries.

I think that's still in the same spirit as number one. :)

Hee. That's what I do. Episodes, extras, then commentaries. *g*

Hee! And I've been taking comfort that I'm not the one out there that follows option #1.

I went for the first option, but really it's episodes, extras commentaries for me. Oh yes.

As I commented to raithen, I think it's in the same spirit. I sometimes start with the extras and then go on to episodes and commentaries.

I answered the most appropriate, common practice. But I can vary.

I actually don't watch w/ commentary very often and I always watch it last, when I do. I find commentary can distract me once I go to watch something again because instead of paying attention to the episode, I'm remembering the funny stories or whatever they told me about it.

It's really about 50-50 whether I go for outtakes and extras, though. Before I watch a series run all the way through.

The commentary that Seth and Joss do on Wild At Heart is hysterical!

Hee hee. Of course I've got to be difficult and come up with exceptions to the exceptions. LOL. Go for the commentaries first, unless I haven't seen the episodes in a while, then I watch the episodes first. I don't watch them randomly. They're in an order...just not the order given by TPTB.

It really makes perfect sense in my wacky OCD head. LOL

As long as your "order" is orderly to you, that's the important thing. *g*

Since many of the DVD sets I've gotten involved cancelled shows or shows I haven't seen in ages, I watch the episodes in order. My deviation from option one is small. If there are deleted scenes from a specific episode, I'll watch those right after the ep. And then I'll either watch the whole disc and then rewatch it with commentaries or I'll watch the episode without commentary, rewatch it with commentary and then move to the next one. It often depends on how good the commentaries are. They drastically vary. Or, with Freaks and Geeks, most episodes have multiple commentaries so I choose one and later will come back for the other. Then lastly, I'll watch the stuff on a bonus disc.

If it's something like when I got Angel Season 5 where I didn't really love the season, but also had just watched it, I went straight to the commentaries and special features. I still have yet to watch the season on DVD otherwise.

After I've seen the set and if I go to watch episodes again, I might skip around for my favorites.

Me too. Once I've gone through the everything in the whole set, I'll skip around and watch what I'm in the mood for at any given time.

From time to time I do get in a marathoning mood and will go through sets show by show again.

Again, "luckily" most of the shows that I love enough to marathon through were cancelled shows, so the marathons are shorter. hehehe I'm waiting to get one of my friends to sit down a do a Freaks and Geeks marathon with me.
