I have a new way of dealing with Amazon.com. I have started using the "Wish List" thingie. So I've got tons of shit on my Wish List, it's almost the same as owning them, since I'VE GOT NO TIME TO READ OR WATCH THEM ANYWAY! So I might as well have virtual copies!
That works for you, huh? I have a feeling that the Wish List would just taunt me with its wish listiness. And then I'd order anyway. Because I don't possess anything that resembles self-control.
So far, so good. I've only ordered two things from Amazon in the past couple of months. This is not typical. I will be ordering Veronica Mars Season 2 and also Neil Young's new CD Living With War, but that will be in August.
It's the CDs that might kill me, since I can actually listen to them at work so they don't stack up like the books and DVDs do. But I'm resisting them.
My wish list is so huge, I had to start another and then another. *g* I put stuff I *really* want in my shopping cart and then put it in "save for later." I have to admit, I'm probably going to drown in DVD sets, too. *g*
P.S. Amazon loves me so much that I signed up for Amazon Prime. I figured I spent WAY more than the cost of that just for shipping at Christmas alone, so now I get 2nd Day Air for everything and don't pay extra for shipping (no shipping costs with 2nd Day Air, beyond the cost of Amazon Prime), and next-day is only $3.99. (I had to do the latter a couple of times for my daughter when she needed a book for a class at college and none of her local bookstores had them.)
And a conspiracy. It's a conspiratorial disease! They just make it so....damn....easy. Amazon was designed especially for people with poor impulse control. Like me.
lol Yep. Too true. Actually, I have an easier time resisting at Amazon than I do in a regular store because having something in my hand just makes it even easier... At Amazon, I can put it in my shopping cart for later and sometimes later actually comes, so it's not quite as impulsive...all the time. *g*
I know that feeling. I had to take amazon out of my favorite places at home. But it's on the thing here at work. I fear it. ;) (And I am waiting for three things to get shipped form there as noe of the packages isn't officially released until tomorrow.)
