Aug. 27th, 2006 10:57 amYeah, so remember the other day I posted about the limited edition release of the LoTR trilogy? My resolve lasted about 48 hours. I've put in a preorder. I couldn't resist the siren call of the additional documentaries and behind the scenes stuff.
I really have no business spending extra money like this right now. I'm a weak, weak person.

That mentions that the extra's really aren't much:
That single disc with both cuts of the film is played on both sides, so you must flip over the disc during playback. And calling the feature on disc 2 a "documentary" is being generous. It's just a chronological assemblage of behind-the-scenes snippets with little context and lots of minor players in the films. Call it "Peter Jackson's Home Movies." Although letterboxed, it is not enhanced for widescreen displays.
I'm sure there will be another edition out someday. Like the Fifth Anniversary or something. But this one, I will skip!
