wherein I steal someone else's idea

A friend wrote a post earlier today where she confessed some of her guilty pleasures, Neil Diamond being one of them. Another friend fessed up to her love of John Denver. There's a reason that these people are my friends. I happen to have an affection for those two singers too. I've also been inspired to create my own post. Here are a few of my guilty pleasures:
1. I've already mentioned Neil Diamond and John Denver in my intro.
2. Days of Our Lives. I like soaps. All My Children was always my favorite, but I'd turn back and forth between it and DOOL. For a long time Days was the soap I watched in full snark mode while AMC was the good one. But Megan McTavish, bless her heart, has succeeded in turning AMC into the most unwatchable, unenjoyable mess most worth of cancellation. (At least, I can only assume that that has been her goal. I hate to think that that's someone's idea of quality.) Meanwhile Days has a new head writer and the show has become watchable, fun, and darn near "can't miss it" daytime television
3. Just about anything with a chocolate + peanut butter combination. Reeces, cookies, ice cream, etc. I have very little self-control with it.
4. While You Were Sleeping. The movie with Sandra Bullock. I'm a sucker for sentiment done well and I think it's done well in that one. Plus it's light-hearted and fun.
So there a few of mine that come to mind. Possibly more as I think of them. Anyone want to tell me yours?

Date: 2006-12-07 08:56 pm (UTC)1. I can't say I like or dislike Neil Diamond, because I can't think of what he sings. But I've loved John Denver since he hung out with muppets and God (aka George Burns).
2. Days of our Lives. When being caregiver to my grandmother, I'd watch the soaps or at least, turn them on for her. She loved Young and the Restless and Days. If I'm home sick or scheduling hooky/lunch, I'll still tune in (and Grammy's been deceased for years). I go for the snark (I'm still not over Marlena as serial killer), and stick around for the stories.
3. Chocolate + Peanut Butter = Piece of Heaven
4. Aw, hee! I love that movie too. It's the nice combo of comedy and romance. :-D
Now, must go back to the drudge. :-(
