Trying to remind myself that self-discipline really is a good thing

I have a more than decent job, with less than decent pay. Now that I have a car payment, there's not much in the way of extra money each month. I live a comfortable, though by no means extravagent life. I don't generally feel the need to have the newest, shiniest gadgets.

And yet. I've spent part of the afternoon wandering through cnet.com, overstock.com, and amazon.com looking at plasma tvs. I'm currently lusting after this this one. I certainly don't need it, or the interest payments I would have to pay on my credit card since I wouldn't be able to pay for it in one fell swoop. But I want it.

I have a small, probably vain, hope that over the next few months the prices of these sorts of things will start falling precipitously. But I'm not holding my breath.

There's a 26 inch Toshiba LCD over at overstock.com that I keep on clicking on. It's becoming an obsession. That I can't justify.
