As the NBA finals started, I had the suspicion and hope that the Pistons would pull out the series. I kept saying Lakers in 6 to keep from jinxing Detroit. Now, the media in general seems to have hopped aboard the Pistons bandwagon and all but ordained them as champions. I'm a little worried that a jinx factor may come into play. Yeah, no NBA team has over come back from 3-1 down, but there's always a first time. I just don't want this to be that first time.

In other words, GO PISTONS!

You know, after the Pistons won Game 1, I was infuriated by the wire service stories in the papers that spent the entire article talking about... the Lakers. Hel-lo? They LOST. Don't talk about how the Lakers screwed up. Talk about how the Pistons didn't.

Hence, I'm amused by the 180 the media took. Shmucks.

Yeah, for weeks as everyone dismissed the Piston's lowscoring opponents as having terrible offenses I've sarcasticly thought it's amazing that Detroit had the good fortune to run up against teams that couldn't score. It seems that it's finally actually occurred to people that the reason the offenses stunk was because the Detroit defense is just that good.

Remarkable how that works.
