Thanks to TNT, I've finally gotten a chance to see a substantial number of episodes of Bones. I'm really liking it. :) When I was just seeing an episode here and there, I was kind of put off by Brennan because I didn't think she was very likable. Now that I have a wider context, I feel a lot differently. And I love the way she and Booth interact. It's a really good role for David Boreanaz.

Also, it seems like there could be good possibilities for some fun SG1/Bones crossover fic. Is there any that any of you know about?

Yep, Booth and Brennan are adorable. That's an amusing idea. Heh, Booth and Cam would get along totally, Angela would find Daniel very interesting--not sure if he would be interested in return, or not sure what to make of her. On the other hand, Angela takes 'no' for an answer... Hodgins would go out of his mind about the 'secret government program' thing and Area 51... Vala would probably make Booth very uncomfortable. Not sure what Brennan and Angela would make of her. You're right, there's some potential there!

It's kind of fun trying to make connections. :) I have an image of Brennan and Teal'c making deadpan/literal observations to each other, Jack and Booth snarking with and at each other, and I'm not sure yet how Sam and Daniel would fit. Though I think you're right that Cam and Booth would totally hit it off. Vala would probably have a whole lot of fun feeding every paranoid thought that Hodgins has ever had.

Lol! You are so right about Teal'c and Brennan! And, yeah, Vala would have tons of fun pushing Hodgin's buttons.

There's one in the stargatefanawards crossover category IIRC.

(I highly recommend the Temperence Brennen books by Kathy Reichs. TV Bones is very loosely based both on book Tempe and the author--who really is a forensic anthropologist who at least used to work in both Quebec and the Carolinas).

Ah. Trundles off to check out the crossover category.

Well, that crossover fic was impressively researched, but the deviation from canon without an 'AU' tag kind of stuck in my craw, especially in the gen catagory.

Yeah, I didn't see that coming since it's in the gen category. That part didn't work for me, but everything else was pretty nicely done.

I always feel great disappointment when I reading along happily then blindsided by something noticably off-canon, or non-gen. I almost think it bothers me more when the story is very well done apart from that than when I think it has other 'issues.' There was another one in the awards that hit me like that. To be fair, that one had a warning, I just missed it. I really wish darkfic had it's own catagory...

I've read two of the books and very much liked them.

They're very well written. They'll be a bit of a surprise to people who, unlike myself, find them after the series, though, as humor plays no part at all. The science is awesome, however, and the plots/characters are always interesting.

I'll add them to my list. :)
