1. Dannon (I think it's Dannon) has a light yogurt that they're advertising. The television commercial involves a very pretty young woman who is so tempted by the yogurt that she rips the top off of a little container and slurps the whole thing down right there in the grocery store aisle. I hate this commercial. With a passion. I think it's the slurping sound effect that really does it. (I don't like listening to people eat. Which is probably one reason why it's a good thing I live alone.) Naturally, Dannon seems to be advertising this product on a lot of shows that I watch. The various true crime/forensic shows must be a big yogurt demographic.

On the one hand, I understand what they're going for with the ad. On the other hand, I have to turn my head away and/or reach for the tv remote every time it comes on. It's very annoying. My life is so tragic.

2. I've greatly enjoyed the episodes of Merlin that I've been able to see. I'm finding them great fun. And seeing Anthony Stewart Head on television again is a delightful thing.

3. I've sort of finished my Jack/Sara thing. Finally. Finished in the sense of I've completed my initial draft and am in the process of going over it to try to smooth it over. I'm still not sure if I've got something good or bad, but at least it's done. It will be nice to be completely done so that I can read the other stories from the ficathon. (I feel too guilty reading them while still trying to complete mine.)

4. As of a few days ago, I have digital camera. It's a cannon point and shoot. Pretty basic, but definitely a step up from the camera phone which was my only other option. The vacation at the end of August was the impetus for getting it. In the meantime, I imagine pictures of my dog will be showing up sometime in the near future.

5. There is no five. Other than that I'm inexplicably finding the Farm Town application on Facebook completely addictive.

Yay for the Jack/Sara fic! I am trying to coerce the muse into working on our Jack/Sara fic, but so far, not looking good. Of course, it may be because it's me holding out... Anyway, I'm always happy to read the stories written by others.

And I am trying not to covet your camera. :D I need want one so badly, and can't come up with the funds at the moment. My camera phone just doesn't cut it when I am inside taking a picture (or on a cloudy day).

It was probably not really a prudent expenditure on my part, but I'm sort of at an "oh well, what's another chunk of change?" stage right now. So there it sits on my end table.

You would think that I wasn't very excited about my story topic, judging by how hard it was to pull it together. In fact, it was the opposite--I just couldn't get it out of my brain and into type. In the end I'm not sure if turned into quite what I had envisioned, but then I think I might be having a little trouble appraising it because it was such a struggle to get it done.

I HATE that commercial. I try to avoid watching commercials in general and yogurt commercials are particularly awful with the gender stereotyping (when was the last time you saw a yogurt commercial that even had a man in it?) but the implications of this particular commercial are so awful, so stereotyped and play into so much cultural crap about women, eating and diet, I just want to throw things at the tv.

Which I won't do because my tv is new and shiny and I now finally have HD, but still. Rage.
