snowpocalypse
Feb. 1st, 2011 05:57 pm1. Snowpocalypse would be more fun if I had a fenced back yard that I could let the dog run around in. Walking him isn't a whole lot of fun in this weather. Tom has given me a break and voluntarily taken me on very short routes on our walks today. Which I consider pretty nice of him considering that he's a breed that's basically built for weather like this.
2. There was one slip and fall incident this morning. I hate falling. My hands probably wouldn't have gotten nearly so scraped up if I had been wearing mittens. Lesson learned. I've worn my mittens on subsequent outings.
3. On the bright side, we did get a rare snow day. And a snow day has already been called for tomorrow. I'm particularly happy about tomorrow because the temperature forecast for tomorrow is ridiculous and the idea of getting out and about is really unappetizing.
4. The unexpected midweek weekend means that today I got my fic that was due today about 2/3 finished. With tomorrow's unplanned holiday I think I'll be able to get it done. This is the first time that I've missed a fic deadline which makes me sad. It's much like the days when I used to think I could get my term papers written quickly because I knew exactly what I wanted to say. I always think the story will get written quickly because I've got it all mapped out in my mind. And it always winds up growing and growing and being more involved than I think it will. Hopefully, I should get this one finished tomorrow. It's exposition-heavy and I'm not sure how it will really translate, but it is what it is (as the saying goes).
