Stargate Atlantis

Is there anybody who saw the resumption of Stargate: Atlantis a week ago Friday? Could anyone give me a brief synopsis of what happened. I had to be out of town that night and I forgot to tape it. I gather from watching the show on Friday that they retook Atlantis, but I'm interested in how.

I think that I'm actually ahead of you guys, as I just saw the season finale last night. Are you talking about the Genii take-over of the city? Or are you actually into a new season.

As always, I have no clue as to what I'm talking about! :D

I think I'm talking about the Genii take-over. (I couldn't remember the name Genii.) There was a huge storm, one ship outside the city, and Sheperd running around the station trying to foil the invaders.

McKay and Weir work on a way to use lightning to power the shields on Atlantis to protect the place from a huge wave that will crash over the place and from the storm. Unfortunately, this means that anyone not in the control room by the time they are done jiggering and by the time lightning strikes will become a crispy critter. Shepherd picks off the Genii until there are only the girl (the daughter of the man who got killed in the Wraith raid and who blamed Tayla for the death of her father) and the leader of the Genii team. Tayla, the doctor, and the young pilot who got stranded on the planet in the storm make it back to Atlantis. The Genii girl knocks the doctor out cold. The Genii team leader takes Weir hostage and tries to abandon Atlantis when Weir and McKay convince him that the plan to save Atlantis won't work. Shepherd appears when the Genii team leader is holding Weir in front of himself as a shield and is backing towards the activated stargate. The team leader is confident that Shepherd won't shoot him because he's holding onto Weir. Shepherd shoots the team leader who falls backward through the gate before the gate is shut down. The Genii girl and Tayla fight. Tayla beats her but declines to kill her. Tayla, the pilot and the Genii girl help the doctor and they all rush to the safety of the control room, just in time. McKay presses a few buttons and lo and behold lightning strikes just at the right time and the shields do work after all. The huge wave moves around the shield, Atlantis is saved. The SG team debate what to do with the Genii girl (who is locked up while they decide). Weir wonders if it will help if the return her to the Genii. End of ep as bestest as I can remember it *g*

just to add details:

Rodney steps in front of Elizabeth and saves her from being killed.

Kolya tells Shep that Weir is dead at the beginning of the ep. Shep does the usual "I'm going to kill you"iff to Kolya.

The Genii call for reinforcements. Shep raises the shield over the gate while the Genii are in transit, killing 55 of them.

Shep then proceeds to sabotage the naquadah reactors providing power to the city, and thus eludes the Genii soldiers searching for him. Unfortunately this also prevents Rodney from being able to repair the grounding station that was damaged at the end of "The Storm." Kolya is forced to tell Shep Weir is not dead, but threatens to kill her for real if Shep doesn't get the power back on.

Meanwhile the Eye of the storm arrives on the mainland and a very nervous Carson gets the jumper back. He, Ford and Teyla start searching for Shep. Fortunately they arrive just in time to save Shep from being taken prisoner by the Genii soldiers who are preventing Shep from getting the power back on (which would've killed Weir).

Rodney fixes the grounding station but fakes out Kolya into thinking the shield isn't working, and then Kolya tries to take Weir and Rodney with them. Shep & Ford run in and save the day. Meanwhile Teyla kicks the Genii girl's ass. :)
