Back from NOLA. I miss everyone already.

It was great to see a new city and to see some old friends. The blue hair never quite happened, so that will just have to wait until the next gathering, I suppose.

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] texaslawchick that Middian does a great Haunted History tour. It was really interesting and the pub break in the midst of it was a nice touch too.

It does not take long to run through cash in New Orleans. Meals can get pretty pricey in the French Quarter. Good, but pricey. Although someone did discover a Cuban restaraunt that we ate at one night. Very reasonable prices and really good food.

The laid back evening at O'Flaherty's made for a good evening on Friday. I like Celtic music and that made a nice accompaniment to good conversation amongst friends. Saturday was a bit of a bust. Since Utopia turned out to be not of the good, things sort of turned into a traveling party that never quite settled anywhere. Still, when you're with friends things are never all bad. And the food at the Cuban restaurant that started the evening was really good.

Sunday turned into a lazy day of lounging in the hotel and watching movies. [livejournal.com profile] pawswithclaws, mrlittlesister, and [livejournal.com profile] gttyrl were probably sick of me by the end of the day, but they didn't show it. Then some of us went on a ghost tour that evening. There was lightning in the distance that added great ambience to the whole tour. And [livejournal.com profile] madjack got some great photos that may show some sort of spectral stuff. That was really cool.

Monday morning, I ran into paws, mrlittlesister, and gttygrl as I was checking out of the hotel. I sat with them for a few minutes while they had breakfast and we said our goodbyes. Then as I was going through security, I heard my name and there were paws and the mister also going through security. It turned out that their flight left about twenty minutes after mine and our departure gates shared the same lobby area. So we sat together for a few more minutes until my plane boarded.

I'm feeling the inevitable letdown of being back at work and back at real life after a fun long weekend. I did manage to get through (skim) by flist. So I guess from that standpoint it's been a productive morning, though not particularly productive work-related morning.

[livejournal.com profile] gypsy86's documentary rocks! I can't wait until all Bronzers get to see it. I commented to some people that I had almost forgotten what it was like when the Bronze was a part of our everyday lives. It brought that feeling back to me. It also made me a little sad that those days are gone forever. That was something that was very special, and I think the doc captured that.

[livejournal.com profile] mircalla35: I'm so sorry that you were too oogy to make the trip. Everyone was sad that you weren't able to be there. I hope you're starting to feel better.

Totally didn't get sick of you, chica. In fact, we were wondering why we hadn't hung out with you more at past events. :-)

Hey there! I'm sorry too. I want to drink and go on a haunted history tour! Well, I probably could do that in NY (I've done it in DC) but it wouldn't be the same. :( Wah.

I am feeling a lot better today, thanks! I hope I'll be able to see you at some point in the not-too-distant future!

Wah. :(

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm sure there'll be another opportunity to meet sometime down the road.
