Inspired by others on my friend's list, I've been working my way through my Buffy dvds. Watching Becoming right now. I just finished the scene where Buffy and the gang are discussing the merits of re-souling Angel. Interesting to watch Xander's adament insistence Angel should be killed and and curse not invoked, that Buffy's just being selfish and wants her boyfriend back. Interesting because when a re-demonized Anya has become the threat a few years later in Selfless, Xander's not nearly so anxious to go a-killing. Not quite so easy when it's someone you love is it? I always kinda wished Buffy had called him on that a little more than she did when they had that dispute in season 7.

Yeah. We just finished Inca Mummy Girl, and I kept muttering (or possibly it was screaming), "Xander = world's largest hypocrite," and I wasn't even thinking about Anya yet. *rollseyes*

I kinda wish people had called Xander on lots and lots of stuff... But then I always call him on it myself. Because I am lame that way. :-D

Seriously though. It's four eps into season 2, and he's STILL ranting about not only Angel being anywhere near Buffy, but Impata -- the actual male foreign exchange student -- coming to stay in Buffy's house. I mean. Shut UP! Not only doesn't she like you "that way," as you so patiently explain to her about your own feelings for Willow, but when she had another option besides Angel? She went for OWEN. Who had a certain Owenosity. Not a Xanderosity. No.


Gee. I always forget how much I always wanted to slap Xander every week. Bring on the Oz.

Me too. I have a lot of issues with early Xander. It drove me nuts that he seemed to think that Angel was the only thing standing between he and Buffy being a couple. Also that Willow didn't become attractive to him until she started dating someone.
