I'm up to The Body in my Buffy marathon.

Man, Anya just destroys me every time I watch this episode. "Joyce will never eat eggs, or yawn, or brush her hair again. No one will tell me why" Gets me every time.

It's a nice scene between Buffy and Tara too. I've often wished that there was more Burry/Tara interaction. They don't have many scenes together over the course of the series, but I always like the ones they do have.

Anya makes me cry EVERY time. No matter how many times I watch. I still cry when that scene starts.

you know, I saw the body when it aired. I was, of course, floored and impressed. And I think I maybe rewatched it once or twice. But it is NOT an ep I have been able to bring myself to watch again. It is just. Too.

*sigh*

I think I might have actually sobbed at that scene when I saw this episode the first time. It gets me every time. It's just so heartfelt and sad.

that's the first time i liked anya after she came back... it's very powerful, but someone pointed out something to me that i can't ever shake: anya wasn't always a vengeance demon. she was a human before that and surely, she'd dealt with death in some form. so while it was a powerful monologue, continuity-wise, it really doesn't make sense.

I don't know. She'd been a demon for over 1,000 years vs being a mortal for fewer than 30 years. Plus life and death was regarded differently in the 8th century than it is now. That's a high enough differential that it works okay for me.....
